Our Team

Dr. Tommy Elton is the founder of Visionary Eye Care and Immediate Past-President of the Minnesota Optometric Association.  After earning his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he was student body president and later named Young Alumnus of the Year- he completed a residency in cornea, glaucoma, and refractive surgery at Minnesota Eye Consultants. From there, he dove headfirst into building practices centered on advanced care and authentic connections.

A recognized leader in the profession, Dr. Elton was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the Minnesota Optometric Association in 2022.  Most recently, he helped lead efforts to expand optometric scope of practice in Minnesota -allowing patients across the state greater access to critical eye care services, right in their optometrist’s office. It’s a milestone he and his team are especially proud to offer at Visionary Eye Care.

Beyond the exam room, Dr. Elton is deeply committed to social causes, co-chairing the board at OutFront Minnesota to champion LGBTQ+ rights, and founding a social justice scholarship at his alma mater, Gustavus Adolphus College.

He also finds time to travel - exploring architecture and design while spending time with his partner in Colombia, where they’re working on starting a family through surrogacy. His global perspective is shaped by years of volunteering on optometric missions, bringing eye care to communities in Mexico, Peru, Tanzania, Rwanda, and beyond.

Dr. Anjli Bedi brings both clinical excellence and heartfelt care to her optometry practice. A proud mother of three-including a newborn-she has dedicated the past decade to raising her family while honing her skills as an optometrist. 

Born in Canada and raised in Texas, Dr. Bedi graduated with honors from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio. Her clinical training included an externship at the Veterans Administration in Fort Worth, Texas, where she gained valuable experience caring for our veterans, as well as an externship at a community eye clinic serving low-income and uninsured patients experience that deepened her passion for accessible, compassionate care.

She later made Minnesota her home to be closer to extended family, and has since worked alongside Dr. Elton and Dr. Oda. A recent graduate of the American Optometric Association’s Leadership Institute, she is committed to mentoring the next generation of optometric leaders and dreams of taking her expertise on future humanitarian missions.

Beyond optometry, Dr. Bedi is also a professional opera vocalist, having performed and competed from Las Vegas to New Orleans. Her love for the arts flows into her family life, where she and her husband enjoy teaching her children music and art, and attending musical theater productions. 

Dr. Bedi’s approach to care reflects her genuine love for people and family. She treats every patient with the same compassion and attentiveness she gives her own loved ones-and looks forward to welcoming you into a space where your vision and well-being truly come first.

Dr. Oda grew up in Japan and Houston, Texas. She attended Ohio State University for her undergrad and continued to Ohio State University College of Optometry and graduated in 2012. After working in multiple practices including corporate, private practice, and ophthalmology clinic in Columbus for four years, she followed her now husband, Matt, to Minnesota in 2016, and started working amongst Dr.Elton and Dr. Bedi. 

Dr. Oda is a member of Minnesota Optometric Association and received the Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2023. Dr. Oda is deeply passionate about the field of optometry and is dedicated to providing each patient with the utmost respect and the highest standard of care. She believes in building trusting relationships and ensuring that every patient feels seen, heard, and well cared. 

Dr. Oda loves to eat delicious food and explore new restaurants. Though her toddler daughter keeps her from trying new restaurants nowadays, she loves to hear your experiences! Dr. Oda is fluent in Japanese and most importantly she is a huge Buckeye fan!
